FAQ - bidJDM

FAQ

1. What fees does bidJDM charge?

There are no fees to bid on auctions. If you choose to use PayPal's billing agreement you don't even have to pay upfront to bid. If you win an auction there are 2 fees you have to pay plus the shipping of your won auction to your country. The two fees are:

  1. The final ending fee. This is a percentage fee taken from the final auction price. The percentage will depend on the category the auction item is listed under and can be found on each auction page when you check the cost calculator on each individual auction page.
  2. The handling fee. This fee is based on the size or weight (whichever is larger) of the item and the location the seller is shipping the item from. This handling fee covers; bank fees, seller packing fees, handling fees for handling and stocking the item in our warehouse as well as any shipping fees to us the seller will charge us. Use the Cost Calculator on the right column of each auction page and get a very accurate estimate instantly. You can choose from our preset list of items to get a size estimate, or you can enter custom dimensions to calculate this fee instantly.

    * In some rare cases an auction seller will charge taxes or extra packing/shipping fees if the item is extremely large or requires special handling and in most cases be listed in the auction details page. This will be passed on to you and will be listed as "additional fee" and you can see it at checkout as a line item in the shopping cart details.
2. Can I combine my RHDJapan purchases with bidJDM purchases?

Yes, but your bidJDM items must be checked in to our warehouse first, before attempting to check out. Once you get notification that the items are ready for check out, you can add anything from RHDJapan to your shopping cart and check out (Date TBA), no problem!

3. When I search the same word in Yahoo Auction I get different results...

bidJDM takes Yahoo auction data directly from the auctions but presents it a little differently than Yahoo itself. You can try the advanced search to use other searching options or try sorting the search results to find the items you want. In some rare cases bidJDM blocks Yahoo sellers because they have proven to be fraudulent or distrustful. To insure a safe bidding environment bidJDM has removed them from the listings.

4. In the auction description it says the seller wont ship internationally and I don't speak Japanese...

This is where bidJDM comes into play. Without a Japanese bank account and mailing address, as well as the ability to read and write Japanese, it is close to impossible to use Yahoo Auctions Japan by yourself. bidJDM will allow you to bid and win items, while bidJDM will contact the seller for you, buy the item for you, handle all the shipping arrangements, customs clearance and send you your auction goods directly to your door.

5. Is there a size or weight limitation?

No, with bidJDM the sky is the limit! bidJDM can ship containers of goods and other very large items, LCL, FCL and Air Freight. Please bear in mind that extra fees such as container storage, custom crates, customs clearance and international shipment preparation will be charged if you get engines, transmissions and other items that cannot be easily posted. Please acknowledge this beforehand.

6. What about vehicles, rims with tires and other very large items like engines and transmissions?

With rims with tires, we can remove the tires for a fee, no problem. To bid on vehicles you will need a special account but you are free to apply for it and bidJDM will contact you accordingly. Engines and transmissions can be purchased by anyone but there will be extra fees for cleaning, boxing and customs clearance and you will need to have them shipped via LCL boat shipping. Please acknowledge this before hand.

7. Can I cancel my bid during or after the auction?

Bids on auctions cannot be canceled at any time. Since you are participating in live Yahoo auctions through the bidJDM service, it is not possible to cancel any bids once they are made. Yahoo Japan makes the rules, we just obey them.

8. How long will it take for my item to arrive after it has been won?

bidJDM is centrally located in Osaka and therefore at the heart of Japan. Shipping to us takes 3 to 7 days and all won auctions are processed the following business day. Most Yahoo sellers are very prompt and ship immediately upon payment however some sellers have full time jobs and can only do things on the weekends. Shipping from bidJDM will depend on the service available for your country that you choose. SAL is space available mail and can take up to 12 weeks to arrive to you and offers no insurance or real time tracking (it is not tracked in real time between the Japanese exit point and destination country entry point).

9. I have won my auction but would like to win some more and have them shipped together, can you do this?

Yes, there is a window of 7 free storage days with bidJDM and if any other commodities arrive within that window you can choose to have them shipped together no problem. You also have the option to extend to 7 more storage days three times. This gives you a total of a 28 day window (7 free and 21 paid) that you can get items in and have them shipped out to you. You can also add any items from RHDJapan for your checkout (Date TBA). Once your items are checked out you are exempt from any further storage fees.

10. How does bidJDM inspect my won auctions?

After the commodity arrives to the bidJDM distribution center the following inspections occur:

  • The commodity won is the commodity that has arrived.
  • The commodity can be legally exported from Japan and is not hazardous. Any Illegal or hazardous material will not be shipped and will be removed from your order.

* The above-mentioned inspection doesn't guarantee the quality and importability of the commodity. Moreover, the commodity cannot be inspected and verified against the fine print in the description used to sell the auction. According to circumstances beyond bidJDM's control, even with the inspection of goods, the import might not be permitted in the customhouse of your country. Please acknowledge this beforehand and check your local laws regarding any items you feel may be dubious.

11. Are there returns on my items?

bidJDM sells nothing so bidJDM cannot accept returns on items we do not sell.  In some cases we can contact the auction seller on your behalf but most auctions are sold as 返品不可 which means no returns. Please consult the actual auction listing to confirm what conditions are set by the seller.

12. My won auction has options to choose from. How do I specify the size, color or type of item I want?

Please contact the bidJDM customer service center with your auction ID and desired specifications and we will be happy to set the process in motion for you.
